Every Ceremony Should Tell A Story
These are just a few of my most popular ceremonies, but I have many, many more.   Just remember ceremonies can be mixed and matched, and romantic ceremonies can be made into religious ceremonies as well

The Groom, the Uncatchable Fish & the Wedding Ring

OFFICIANT:  "Everyone, please rise" (Entrance of the Bride)

OPENING WORDS & WELCOME

OFFICIANT:   We are gathered here today in the sight of God, to celebrate one of life's greatest moments. The joining of two hearts. To their family, friends and loved ones, Robert & Beth would like to thank everyone for coming out to share in their happiness.  Each of you has given something of yourself into their lives, and it’s only fitting that you’re here as we mark not the beginning of a relationship but to surround Robert & Beth with the love and support that will strengthen the bond that already exists between them and to celebrate what will soon be one of the best moments of their love story, that is their wedding day. I am so honored to be here as well, and thank you for inviting me to be a part of this very special day.

GIVING OF THE BRIDE

OFFICIANT:  Who amongst us gives this woman today to be married?

Escort ANSWERS: “Her Mother & I Do” or guests can shout “We All Do”!

OPENING WISDOM

OFFICIANT:  All of us have our own love stories. Some are short, some are long. Some are just beginning, and some are just getting to the good stuff. Robert & Beth, you met & fell in love by chance, but you're here today because you've made a choice. You've chosen to be with someone who loves you, makes you smile, goes fishing with you and lets you know every day, how truly loved and valued you are. And that’s a Great catch and a keeper too!

Our ability to love unconditionally is the very best part of who we are despite everything that makes us all so different and unique.... love is what we all share. No matter who we are, where we've come from, what we believe, we know this one thing to be true: Love is the only thing that matters. Not stuff, or how much money we’ve made or how many fish we’ve caught.  At the end of the day, and of this life it’s all about the love. It’s the source of everything we’re doing right & the closest thing to heaven this side of ever after, and marriage, when done right, is being in love for the rest of your life.
The words of the Corinthians are spoken in many wedding ceremonies regardless of your religion, because they are as true today as the day they were written.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not disrespect loved ones, nor is it selfish, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs nor holds a grudge.  Love does not delight in the bad things of this world, but it rejoices at the beauty of it and with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always triumphs.  Love will never fail you.  People fail, so let love always be your guide.

Robert & Beth, you’ve come to know the best of what each has to offer, accepting and respecting your differences, and having a ball with the things you share in common, which only confirms what you already knew. That together you are far greater than you were alone. Every experience you’ve ever had, everything you have ever done, every path you have ever taken, has lead you to this moment and trust me when I say…. The best has yet to come.

 INTENT

OFFICIANT:  The person standing next to you will be your greatest source of joy, so don’t blow it with pettiness.  Learn and grow together, & never give up on one another.
Robert & Beth, do you, come before me today freely and without a doubt to become husband and wife in the eyes of God and witnessed by all of your loved ones who have gathered here on this day? If so, please answer together, I do

READING THE LITTLE THINGS
OFFICIANT:   To make any relationship work, takes more than love. While romance is fun, a good marriage must be created.  In marriage, the "little" things are the big things.
It’s never being too old to hold hands.
It’s remembering to say,” I love you" at least once a day.
It’s never going to sleep angry.
It’s standing together and facing the world.
It’s having patience while Robert gets his lure out of the tree he cast it in and laughing when he dumped you out of the boat while trying to rescue said lure
It’s finding new ways to share your life together, when the old ones become stale
It’s having the capacity to forgive and forget and truly mean it.
It’s saying “Thank you for just being you”, and “I’m so grateful every day, that you picked me.”
It’s recognizing how truly lucky you are to have one another.
It’s remembering that special date with the kids, when Beth brought over dinner and the two of you ended up laying in the yard with blankets until 1 in the morning just talking…It was just a little thing, but something Beth says that meant more to her than an expensive dinner or going out
Always remember the little things.
OFFICIANT:  Today, your wedding, is one brief moment in time, and although your vows are spoken in a matter of minutes, they are promises that will last a lifetime.

VOWS (face each other and hold hands) (repeat after me)

Robert, please repeat after me
I, take you Beth to be my wife, I will trust you and honor you,
I will love you faithfully & respect you always
Through the best and the worst,
I will always be there and have your back
As I have given you my hands to hold
So I give to you my life to keep
So help me God
Beth, please repeat after me
I, take you Robert to be my Husband,
I will cherish our friendship & the life we share
I will trust you and honor you
I will laugh with you and at you.
I will love you faithfully and be your rock
Whatever may come, I am always on your side
And got your back too.
As I have given you my hand to hold
So I give you my life to keep
So help me God

YOUR HANDS IN MINE READING AND RING CEREMONY.......AND A FISH STORY
OFFICIANT:    As you hold one another’s hands, look at them and remember the gift they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend. These are the hands that are holding yours on your wedding day.  These are the hands that will hold you tight through difficult times and will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving. These are the hands that will cross their fingers for you, clap, fist pump and high five you every time you succeed and even when you don’t. These are the hands that will give you strength and lift you up when you need it most, so hold on tight!
May I have the rings please?  Rings will be passed to me

OFFICIANT:   Ah the rings!  The symbol of the unbroken circle of love.  I had planned the traditional presentation of the rings, but decided instead to tell you all a fish story.  The story of the The Groom, the Uncatchable Fish & the Wedding Ring.

It goes something like this……. There are some fish that cannot be caught.
It's not that they're faster or stronger than other fish.
They're just touched by something extra.
One such fish was known as The Beast.
And by the time the Groom was born he was already a legend.
He'd passed up more $100 lures than any fish in Tennessee. He’d tricked many a hungry fisherman in his day and sent to cussing many a reverent soul
Some said that fish was the ghost of a thief, who'd drowned in the Duke river years before. While others claimed he was a dinosaur left over from the Stone Ages.
The Groom didn't put much stock into such speculation or superstition.
All he knew was he’d been trying to catch that fish for as long as he could remember,
And here he was again, on his wedding day, about to give it one more shot
And wouldn’t you know it, that was the day he finally caught him.
Now, he’d tried everything on it...Worms, jigs, lures, peanut butter, spinner baits and smelly fish spray enticer…But on that day I had a revelation:
If that fish was Henry Walls' ghost, then the usual bait wasn't gonna work.
He was gonna have to use something that old ghost truly desired.
- Gold.
So he pulled out the tiny band of gold he had bought for his Bride to be, tied that ring onto the strongest line they made. Strong enough to hold up a bridge, they said, if only for a few minutes,  And so he cast upriver.
The Beast jumped up and grabbed it before it even hit the water.
And just as fast, he snapped clean through that line.
Well, you can see the problem with this right? His predicament?
His wedding ring, the symbol of the unbroken circle of love & fidelity to his Bride...
Was now lost in the gut of The uncatchable fish.  On his wedding day.
So he followed that fish upriver and downriver. This fish, The Beast...
Now this whole time we’ve been calling it a him, when in fact, The Beast was a her.
It was fat with eggs, that it had decided it was gonna lay right now, this day.
And while he should have been excited about this turn of events because now he could gut that fish and get his wedding ring back but in doing so he'd be killing the smartest catfish in the Duck River.

His dilemma, being a fisherman and a man who also enjoyed teaching the art of fishing to his children and to the children of his community…. Did he really want to deprive so many hopeful souls & fishermen in training the chance to catch a superstar & a legend in Coffee County and the surrounding areas, this fish, this Beast?
You see, this ladyfish and the Groom, well they shared the same destiny, they were, he realized, a part of the same equation, touched by something extra…
Now, you may ask... ...why did it strike so quick on gold when nothing else would attract it?
Ahhhh…the moral of this story and the lesson learned by the fisherman on that day…his wedding day….
Sometimes the only way to catch an uncatchable woman...
………...is to offer her a wedding ring.

Robi will then hand Robert, Beth’s wedding ring and say…..Robert, please repeat after me.
This ring is my gift, and my promise to love you.  I take you to be my Wife. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poorer, in joy and sorrow, but always in love. And with this ring, I marry my best friend & Best Catch, Beth Alandria Scott, for as long as we both shall live. Place ring
Robi will then hand Beth, Roberts wedding ring and say…..Beth, please repeat after me.
This ring is my gift, and my promise to always love you.  I take you to be my Wife. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poorer, in joy and sorrow, but always in love, And with this ring, I marry my best friend & Best Catch, Robert Hogan Scott, for as long as we both shall live. Place ring

MARRIAGE WISDOM & BLESSING
As you begin your journey together, I ask you to remember this advice: Marriage is a precious gift.  There is no greater joy than for two human souls to feel that they are joined together for life.  Cherish each moment as the gift that it is.  Love will always give you a chance to get it right, and today is the day it all begins anew. So celebrate it!  Embrace the journey that brought you here today & the lessons learned, both good and bad and rejoice in the knowledge that every step of that journey, brought you here on this day, right where you belong.  Remember this moment in times of hardship or when tempers flare as they always will even between the best of friends, stop…. and bring yourselves back to this moment right now, remember how you feel about one another and suddenly the little things we say and do in the heat of a moment, aren’t so worthy of our time and energy when we remember the one who stood beside us on one of the very best moments of our lives together. This moment will always bring you back home and remind you of what’s important.

Let your love be stronger than your anger.
Believe the best of one another first, rather than the worst.
Never let pride speak for you or make the call in matters of the heart & home
Love is not about 50/50, but giving of yourselves 100% always
Remember that true friendship is the basis for any lasting relationship.
Fight fair, Play hard, Forgive completely, Laugh out loud, Give freely, Love fiercely & Live happily ever after!
May the Lord, bless you and keep you in his light always!

OUR STORY

So we come here today, to celebrate love & life!  And while we are here to surround Mike, Mandy and Austin with our love and support for a relationship that already exists.  Today is the day that it all begins anew.  They’ve come to know the best of what each has to offer, accepting and respecting their differences, and having a ball with the things they share in common, which only confirms what they already knew. That together they are far greater than they were alone,  and trust me when I say…. The best has yet to come.

I’ve had the honor of hearing many love stories over the years, and my favorite stories seem to be the ones that happen when the couple least expect it, and weren’t even looking for it, and may have even had that moment of looking at one another and thinking “No Way”, and the next thing you know…. Ready or not…Love takes the wheel and it’s ON!  And love my friends, will not be denied, as both Mike and Mandy discovered, resistance is not an option J

Like many in this day and age, Mike and Mandy met the old fashioned way…. online, and while they may not have known where any of this was going to lead when it began, Love knew. A chance online meeting with a guy from Kansas, who may have stared at Mandy a little too much in school and had a hard time expressing his feelings and may have even creeped Mandy out in the beginning because of his awkwardness in the game of love, finally revealed the sweet loving soul inside the man as he stood beside her during one of the most difficult times of her life and supported her when she needed it most and became not only a dear and trusted friend in a time of loss, but someone she could rely on, talk to, trust and yes….love.  It’s so easy to fall in love when everything around us is fun and exciting and nothing but good times ahead, but the bonds that are created during some of our worst moments, that triumph over pain and grow even stronger despite the hardships that life can throw at us….That’s when a persons true colors come shining through, no matter how awkward or shy, no matter that we don’t have all the perfect words to say.  Love knows and love takes the wheel once again and BAM!  There in front of us the whole time is our soul mate.  SURPRISE!!  And just when they thought it couldn’t get any better…. SURPRISE!  A bouncing bundle of baby boy love named Austin arrives and the circle is complete J

RING CEREMONY

May I have the rings please?  Hand both to Chaplain

CHAPLAIN:  These rings mark a new chapter in your story together. Filled with every wonderful thing you chose to bring to this life & more if you begin with love.  They are also your first gift to one another as husband and wife. So when you place these rings upon each other’s fingers, wear them with love and with honor. These rings represent the unbroken circle of love, no ending and no beginning.  May these rings always remind you of the vows you have spoken and your commitment to one another from this day forward

Groom, repeat after me:

This ring is my gift, and my promise, that I will always love you, cherish and honor you, all the days of my life. And with this ring, I marry my best friend, Tracy Middle Name Cole. (The Groom will be the first to pronounce The Bride by her married name) YAY!

Bride, please repeat after me;

This ring is my gift, and my promise that I will always love you, cherish you and honor you all the days of my life. And with this ring, I marry my best friend, Michael Middle Name Cole.

CHARGE TO THE COUPLE

So we come here today, Friends, Family, one and all to celebrate love & life!  To surround Bride & Groom with our love and support for their future.  Today is the day it all begins anew.  They’ve come to know the best of what each has to offer, accepting and respecting their differences, and having a ball with the things they share in common, which only confirms what they already knew. That together they are far greater than they were alone. Every experience you’ve ever had, everything you have ever done, every path you have ever taken, has lead you to this moment and trust me when I say…. The best has yet to come.

CLOSING WISDOM AND BLESSINGS

CHAPLAIN:  Bride & Groom, you don’t need me to say a few words and sign a piece of paper to make you family or soulmates, or partners in life.  That’s something that you already are.  Something that you’re already doing right. This moment is the anchor that holds your past and your future together. Remember it and celebrate it!  Remember everything you’re feeling right now.  All the nerves, excitement and pure love you have for one another at THIS MOMENT, and if you ever have trouble finding your way, or times become hard and you forget what brought you together in the first place, come back to this moment, to this day and let it guide you home.  Suddenly the little things we allow to make us crazy at times are not so important when we remember the one who stood beside us on one of the very best moments of our lives.

A good marriage is not based on promises, but rather on trust, respect, faithfulness and the ability to forgive.  A lasting marriage is based on all of these, bound together by love….and a good sense of humor!
So, Fight fair, Play Hard, Give Freely, Love Fiercely and create your own happily ever after!
PRONOUNCEMENT
Friends, Family and loved ones, do I have your permission to pronounce these two?  If so, shout it out loud…” GO BIG ORANGE”!! or WOO-HOO!

Then it is my honor and by the power vested in me by the Great State of Tennessee, I know pronounce you husband and wife.  You may now, seal it with a kiss!  What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder

It is my honor and privilege at this moment to announce for the very first time, Mr. & Mrs. Cole!!!!!!

A Very Harry Potter Wedding

OPENING WORDS

OFFICIANT:  We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments: the joining of two hearts and to surround Matt & Danielle with all the love, support & best wishes they can stand to kick off their first day as husband & wife!

Today, we celebrate the best thing we do as human beings; and that is LOVE. Despite everything that makes us all so different and unique.... love is what we all share. No matter whom we are, where we've come from, what we believe, we know this one thing to be true: Love is the only thing that matters.

For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only thru love.  Carl Sagan

I am truly honored that Matt & Danielle chose me to share this wonderful day with them and I know they are grateful to be surrounded by those of you who mean so much to them. In the words of Albus Dumbledore, And now, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure

GIVING OF THE BRIDE

OFFICIANT:  Who gives this woman in marriage today?

Father answers:  “Her mother & I do”

INTENT

OFFICIANT: Matt & Danielle shared some lovely verses with me from Harry Potter & others, and I would like to begin their Intent with a quote from Goku in Dragon Ball Z.. Over time I have grown stronger, my strength reaching new heights, but I have never gained more than the day you made it into my life

And so I ask you, Matt & Danielle, do you come here today with aims identical and hearts open to be united in marriage?  If so, please answer together, I Do.

MATT & DANIELLE:  I DO

THE COUPLE’S STORY

OFFICIANT:  I’ve had the honor of hearing many love stories over the years. I always ask my couples to tell me their story, about how they met and what lead them to this day, and the interesting thing they both told me was how they’d known each other for years, and yet, each were in their own different worlds, with different lives for different reasons, but always maintaining a bond that was never more obvious than when they would come together to catch up.
Sneaking glances across crowded rooms at one another, or getting an antsy feeling inside every time you hear the others voice was just the prologue to the love story that Matt & Danielle began writing so many years ago.  I believe Rubeus Hagrid said it all when he said “What's coming will come and we'll meet it when it does” Love has it’s own pace.  It’s easy to fall in love when everything around us is fun and exciting, but the bonds that are created & continue to grow even when one or both people are still struggling to find themselves, that perfect job and where they belong in this world…the ones that thrive despite our frailties, those are the ones that truly shine once they’re realized because they started with friendship. “Where your treasure is, there will be your heart also” Albus Dumbledore. Sometimes love takes the long way home, but once it does, "It is impossible to manufacture or imitate love."-Professor Slughorn
and I think Matt & Danielle summed it up perfectly in their letters to me…”Even though the circumstances weren't right for me to say such things, I couldn't go the entire day without telling her how I felt.  That was the first time I understood what love felt like, and I realized I had felt it for a long, long time, but I was too afraid to see it.  And now that I see it.. I don't have that antsy feeling.  I know exactly what I want for the rest of my life”, Matt. And from Danielle.. “Matt confessed first that he realized he had been in love with me the entire time but didn't know until that moment. As he was telling me this, I was realizing that I felt the exact same way. So it seems we were always in love but were too young or naive or scared to realize it. It was always meant to be!
“It is our choices that show what we truly are far more than our abilities.” Matt & Danielle, you're here today because you made a choice. You've chosen to be with someone who loves you, makes you smile, and lets you know every day, how truly loved and valued you are so hold on tight!
I DO’S
"Happiness (is) only real when shared" Christopher McCandless
OFFICIANT:  Matt & Danielle, do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and always put your relationship first, from this day forward? If so, please answer together (I do)

Come back to this moment and let it guide you back to what’s important.  Suddenly the silly little things we allow to make us crazy are not so important when we remember the one who stood beside us on one of the very best moments of our lives.

CHARGE TO THE COUPLE

OFFICIANT:   As you begin your journey together, I ask you to remember this advice:
Never get too old to hold hands
Say I love you at least once a day, even when you’re mad
Remember love is all about the little things, so never stop trying to impress one another
There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.
Believe the best of one another rather than the worst.
The world isn’t split into good people and Death Eaters. We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on
Sometimes a simple call or text out of the blue can turn a crap day into the best day ever
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live

When you say you forgive and forget, mean it!
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light
And never forget how truly lucky you are to have one another
Fight fair, Play hard, Love fiercely, Forgive completely, Laugh out loud, & never stop living your happily ever after!

OFFICIANT:   Family and friends, do I have your permission to pronounce these two?  If so give me a big WOO-HOO. Crowd responds accordingly:  Then it is with great honor and joy and by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife!  You may now seal this with a kiss!

PRESENTATION

OFFICIANT:  Ladies and gentlemen, friends, family, and loved ones; it is with great pleasure that I now introduce to you for the first time,

OPENING WORDS

CHAPLAIN:  We are gathered here today in the sight of God, to celebrate one of life's greatest moments. We are here to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes and blessings to the words that will unite Ashley & Allen in holy matrimony.

I DO’S & INTENT

Marriage is the most important of all earthly relationships. It should be entered into reverently, thoughtfully and with full understanding of its sacred nature. Do you, come before me today of your own free will and are you prepared to go forth in this ceremony to become husband and wife before the eyes of God?  If so, please answer together, I do

1st Corinthians

I ask that you remember these words because they are as true today as the day they were written:  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love will never fail you

OUR STORY

CHAPLAIN:  Ashley & Allen met the old fashioned way….online.  They told me their attraction was instant…mostly but not only, because of all the pictures both of them had on the dating site of their dogs.  Being a dog lover myself, I understand this attraction and believe if you really want to get to know a person and how they love….get to know their dog!  Needless to say, I didn’t have to look far to find the perfect reading for Ashley & Allen as the similarities in love & dogs are easy if you think about it. Just replace the word dog with love:

Love makes messes.
Love leaves you little surprises here and there.
Love needs lots of cleaning up after.
Sometimes you just want to get love fixed.
Sometimes you want to roll up a piece of newspaper
just to let love know: Don’t you ever do that again!
Love doesn’t care if your breath is bad, or if you stay in your pj’s all day
As long as love can stay by your side and have bad breath too.
Love makes you meet people wherever you go….even online.
People who have nothing in common but pictures of love,
Stop and talk to each other for hours on end and before you know it
you’re taking your love to Fairhope Alabama for a surprise on the pier!
Throw things away and love will bring them back…again, and again, and again.
And all love wants most of all, is love..Lots and lots of it.
And in return, love loves you and never stops, til death you do part.

VOWS (face each other and hold hands)(repeat after me)
CHAPLAIN:  Ashley & Allen, your vows may be spoken in just a few minutes, but they’re the promises that bind you for a lifetime.  Please repeat after me:
I, Allen Doss Williamson, take you Ashley Renee Gregory, to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish you and honor you.  I will love you faithfully & respect you always. So help me God

I, Ashley Renee Gregory, take you, Allen Doss Williamson to be my husband, my partner in life, and my one true love. I will cherish you and honor you.  I will love you faithfully & respect you always. So help me God

Ring Ceremony
These rings represent the unbroken circle of life and love. There is no beginning and no ending. They are also your first gift to one another as husband and Wife, so wear them with honor, love, joy and the respect they deserve
Allen: (Repeat after me) This ring is my gift & my promise before God, to love, honor & cherish you always.  With this ring I thee wed, Ashley Renee Williamson
Ashley: (Repeat after me) This ring is my gift & my promise before God, to love, honor & cherish you always.  With this ring I thee wed Allen Doss Williamson

READING FROM ECCLESIASTES

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

MARRIAGE BLESSING

CHAPLAIN:  May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years.
May happiness be your companion, and may your days together be good and long upon the earth.
May the Lord, bless you and keep you in his light….Amen

Most importantly, love like ( your dogs names)

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride together.
When loved ones come home always run to greet them.
Take naps together and stretch before rising.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout...
Forgive and forget immediately and mean it! Run right back and love even harder.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk together. Run & romp with your whole body.
Love each other unconditionally forever and always.

It is my great joy and honor & By the power vested in me by the great State of Tennessee, I now pronounce you . . . . . . . Husband and Wife
You may now, seal your marriage with a kiss

Modern Romantic Best Friend Ceremony Romance Is Fun

OFFICIANT:  We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, The Joining of two hearts and to give recognition to the beauty of love and to add our best wishes to the words that will unite Wesley Curtis and Elizabeth Pierpoint in marriage.  To their family, friends and loved ones, Wesley and Liz would like to welcome you and thank you for being here.  Each of you has given something of yourself into their lives, and it’s only fitting that you share in this celebration of their commitment to one another and celebrate the moment that will unite them in marriage. I am honored to Officiate your ceremony and thank you for inviting me to share this day with you.

ADDRESS TO THE COUPLE

OFFICIANT:  We come here today not to mark the beginning of a relationship but to surround Wesley and Liz with the love and support that will strengthen the bond that already exists between them.  For Wesley and Liz, out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary has happened. They met each other, fell in love, became partners in life and are now celebrating that love with their wedding today. They have come to know the best of what each has to offer, accepting and respecting their differences, and rejoicing in the things they share in common, which only confirms what they already know. That together they are far greater than they are alone.
Wesley & Elizabeth, Every experience you have ever had, everything you have ever done, every path you have ever taken, has lead you to this moment and trust me when I say….The best has yet to come.

While romance is fun, a good marriage must be created.  In marriage the "little" things are the big things.
It’s never being too old to hold hands.
It’s remembering to say, ”I love you" at least once a day.
It’s never going to sleep angry.
It’s standing together and facing the world.
It’s saying “Thank you for just being you”, and “I’m so grateful every day, that you picked me.”
It’s having the capacity to forgive and forget and truly mean it.
It’s calling or texting one another out of the blue to say “Hey, you rock!” or “I miss you”
It’s giving each other the space and respect to grow as an individual.
It’s giving each other your devotion, time and attention so that you may grow as a couple together.
It’s a common search for the good and the beautiful in each other and all things.
It’s recognizing how truly lucky you are to have one another.
It takes trust, to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other. It takes dedication, to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. And it takes faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds for you both. So I ask that you remember; True love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always endures. Love will never fail you only lack there of.

The Oldest Ritual In The World

Today in marriage, you are taking into your care and trust, the happiness of the one person in this world whom you love with all your heart.
Thank you for inviting me to share in the celebration of your love, a very special love that culminates in your union as husband and wife.
Every experience you ever had, everything you have ever done,
everything you have ever
learned, has brought you to this moment.
New experiences lie before you with opportunities to grow deeper in love with each other.
As you walk hand in hand into the future, cherish each moment as a gift to strengthen the bond between you.

Some say that marriage is the oldest ritual in the world. As such, it should not be entered into thoughtlessly or lightly, for your future happiness and prosperity depends on what you put into this relationship.  With that being said, do you Meghan Denise Harrell and Eric Michael McElroy come of your own free will to be united as husband and wife?  If so, please answer together, I do.

A successful marriage is not something that just happens.
It must be nurtured. It takes work, it takes understanding, and it takes time.
More importantly, it takes a commitment from both of you
—a commitment to do whatever it
takes
to make your relationship thrive and not just simply survive.
And finally, it is not only marrying the right partner,
it is being the right partner.

VOWS

Meghan: Repeat after me.
I Meghan, take you Eric to be my husband and my partner in life.
I promise to walk by your side forever,To love, help and encourage you in all that you do.
I will take time to talk with you, listen to you, and to care for you.
I will share your laughter and your tears. Everything I am and everything I have
is yours now and forever.  This is my vow to you

To Ring Holder: May I have the rings
The wedding ring is the outward and visible sign
of an inward and invisible bond which unites two loyal hearts.
The ring is a never ending circle that represents never ending love.

Eric: please repeat after me:
I give you this ring.
Wear it with love and joy.
As this ring has no end, neither shall my love for you.
I choose you to be my wife this day and forever.
Meghan Denise McElroy
